Logical Color Mixing Using the Munsell System
Many hours are spent at the easel attempting guesses at color that end in circles of frustration. There are numerous ways to approach color and design. This workshop focuses on rational color mixing, using the Munsell Color System as reference. Participants will learn to analyze subjects by noting levels of Hue, Value, and Chroma.
The class time will consist of demonstrations, discussions, and practical exercises.
All classes will be recorded and available for you to watch later so you can come back and review the materials again and again!
Here's what you'll Learn!
By the end of the workshop, you will be armed with knowledge and experience that will help you with solving color puzzles in your future paintings.
Day 1 - Monday, Dec. 7th
You'll get a thorough introduction to the Munsell Color System, how to use the Munsell Book of Color and then you get to ask any questions you have about what you've learned.
Day 2 - Tuesday, Dec. 8th
We'll kick off day 2 with a painting demonstration so you can see the system in action. Then we'll delve into using the Munsell Color System in YOUR own paintings AND we'll have another Q & A session so that you're clear on what you've learned.
Day 3 - Wednesday, Dec. 9th
On Day 3, you will continue working on your painting as a group alongside Lucy while she reveals tips and tricks for studio painters, plein air painters and everyone in between.
Day4 - Friday, Dec. 11th
After a day off to work on your own painting, now we get to critique 3 attendees works, so that you can learn from your peers. We'll top it off with an overview of the Munsell system, and one last Q&A session to cover all your final questions!

Tuesday December 8, 1- 3PM EST
Wednesday December 9, 1- 3PM EST
(No class on Thursday - that way you have time to work on your exercises)
Friday December 11, 1- 2PM EST
Classes are 2 hours. That gives us plenty of time for demonstrations and a Q and A discussion at the end of the class
We meet on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 1PM until 3PM Eastern Standard time.
And again on Friday for a one hour critique session from 1- 2PM EST
YES! Classes will be recorded. And YES you will have access after the workshop ends! 🎊
We'll post the recordings for you within 24 hours. If something comes up and you have to miss a class, we've got you covered!
The recordings are also SUPER helpful if you need to go back and check your notes while you're working on your color exercises so we like to get them up lickety split!
