With her at the helm and hosting this conversation, these podcast interviews will not only be informative, interesting and authentic, I know they will be fun too. I cannot wit to tune in and pick up some insights on how other artists work and how they get their artwork out there, seen and SOLD. This is certain to be a much needed resource for working artists and I'm looking forward to becoming a regular listener. Thanks, Antrese!

Thank you Antrese for your excellent interview with Charlie Hunter. It was very informative and fun to hear about how he became a painter. I like your style of interviewing and think it's a great podcast.
Thank you soo much for the heart and passion...
Thank you soo much for the heart and passion you have put into Savvy Painter! I am constantly inspired and challenged by you and your guest. Thank you for making this happen and for pulling our worlds together. I am a Senior CG artist at The Basement in Indianapolis with almost thirteen years in the field. My foundation and true love in fine art, Pen and Ink, and oil painting. My strength is drawing but my goal is impressionism oil painting.
Here are my top two struggles. With impressionism with oils...is "when to stop." I tend to push the painting past the moment when I should stop...losing the brush strokes, color, and original heart of the painting. My second struggle is finding time as s a husband, father of two, and full time employee. I can't put into words how blessed I am but I struggle while finding time to put paint to the canvas and learning more. Drawing is different...I draw all the time while working, while at lunch.
Thank you again for your heart and passion you put into Savvy Painter. Continue doing what you do and blessing others!
I've been devouring these in my studio over past few days while I work. What an awesome resource you've put together. A few of the artist I know personally, or have heard of them or their work, and others are completely new to me, thank you!
Calm and Valuable
Savvy Painter in an amazing concept, how to make a business out of your art. I'm wondering this myself so I will definitely be checking out more. The John Hull episode's pretty beautiful and heartfelt. Thanks Antrese, keep it up!
Perfect Artist Podcast
From Tips to plan and organize (Episode 15)...so you get more time for painting to lots of conversations with amazing Artist! Even for this hobby oil painter this show rocks!
I love the Savvy Painter!
I feel SO good and inspired after listening to the interviews on the savvypainter.com. I am a painter and often feel really alone navigating the many challenges of being a full-time artist and running my own business. Most people can't relate and or don't take me seriously. It is so wonderful listening to a podcast by a painter for painters. I feel so connected listening to the interviewer with contemporary artists, who open up and describe their struggles and challenges, as well as, where they have found success. The business of art is discussed, as is education, tips, and techniques, ups and downs, the meaning of art, why we create, inspiration...Everything. Wherever you are at in your career, there is something of value and interest to be heard on the Savvy Painter. To my fellow painters, I can't recommend this enough. To everyone else, the show is a glimpse into the lives of artists and is very worthy of your time.
I truly love all your interviews
Antrese Wood, I truly love all your interviews but I wanted to pay a special compliment on this one with Karen. Really connected with so many things she said - she is putting words around concepts that I've just recently begun to consider. Wonderful! I also love how you are able to 'go there' with everyone you interview and this podcast is another inspirational one! Thank you!
The world of art will be different because of this show
I say this because she is giving artists the critical tools necessary to make your passion into a reality and into a viable career. This is a major road block or artists and Antrese unveils powerful secrets and knowledge to make your dream into a successful business.
Immensely helpful and informative
So many of use who make/do art...do it alone. This is a great chance to hear from others about their failures and successes that have allowed them to grow and prosper. Some of the interviews answer important questions that I didn't even know I wanted to ask. Thank you for the variety of people you interview. And thank you for the follow-up info regarding the artists mentioned. I am a better artist because of this podcast.
Listening while traveling across the US
My daughter, who is helping me set up a website for my new business, introduced me to your podcasts. We love them!! We are getting great ideas for our art businesses from your well thought out questions in the interviews you conduct. Thank you so much for creating this podcast!!!
Insightful interviews that appeal to artists at any stage of their career
All of my friends are probably sick of hearing about Savvy Painter from me, but I can't stop recommending this show. Every episode is a goldmine, whether the interview is with another artist, a teacher, financial planner, blogger, collector, gallery owner...You name it and Antrese Wood has had a conversation with them. The show is informative AND entertaining. And she's not just rehashing what has already been covered in other interviews or writings. Antrese does her homework and doesn't let her interviewees off the hook and glib answers. The show makes me go back and re-listen to episodes (and take notes) to make sure I didn't miss anything. What a valuable resource!
Exactly what I needed!
This is a great podcast! I have been looking for something like this for many years. Every so often I search for new podcasts to add to my addiction. (I like to multi-task). Antrese is very good at interviewing the perfect array of people that she has collected to help and give inspiration to us. I am grateful to have found the Savvy Painter at the time in my career when I can really use her advice. My head is spinning as I have binged listened over the last week. I am ready to really make a go at an art career and I feel that the advice I have gotten from listening so far will save me from making some time consuming mistakes. The artists interviewed are from a variety of fields. I am learning a little something from every one of them! Thank you, Antrese!
Awesome Artist Stimuli
I stumbled across this podcast and what a treasure it's been ! Several of the interviewed artists have been ones I admire (Kathleen Dunphy and Kevin MacPherson - Plein Air artists). The host asks great questions and usually gets great advice for those listening. Even though it is simply audio, a wide array of topics have been covered (drawing, painting, business). It's been fun to listen in on what has to be said about the artists origins, dreams, practices, color choices, and interests. As a young aspiring artist, this podcast is very encouraging and I look forward to sharing with my artist circle of friends. Keep up the great work and keep bringing on those Plein Air artists!!
I LOVE THIS PODCAST
I like to make art. I've been listening to this show non stop since I discovered it. I love to paint to it and I feel like I'm learning so much about life when I listen. THANK YOU Antrese for making this!!!!!
Informative and entertaining!
Love this show, as an artist, I appreciate a focus show on the arts. Keep going!
Ebullient interviews that are entertaining and informative
Interviewing and making it interesting is difficult. And that to a visual topic on an audio only medium and it's at expert level. Host Antrese Wood handles this so deftly that you can't even see the brush strokes. Even when a guest misinterprets a question and answers in a fractal way, she encourages and nourishes this surprise branch and delves deeper. Her website has the gallery and bibliography for every episode (which is oh so helpful to not only see the art being discussed but to learn about any other artists being referenced). Put a red dot on this podcast, I'm sold.
Recommended for all artists
As an artist and a business owner, I highly recommend this new podcast. You can learn a lot from listening to this new show!
A podcast for artists looking for a mentor
Antrese is a great interviewer of highly acclaimed artists and entrepreneurs who are willing to share their unguarded perspective on Art and all avenues it encompasses. Each episode has been a valuable reminder of how important it is as an artist to find other artists to talk to. She is having the conversations we all want to have and putting them out there for our benefit.
A must listen for artists!
This is a great resource for artists and all the creative minds out there. The stories of the artists themselves on the show are inspiring for everyone! Highly recommended!
This is the best artist interview podcast I have found, I highly recommend it to my fellow artist friends!
Much needed for artists!
Antrese Wood is doing big things for artists. Love the show!
Artists who share their pragmatic as well as visionary sides
Great questions. Artists who share their pragmatic as well as visionary sides. It's such a generous contribution to the sometimes-solitary world of an artist, and I'm soaking up all I can, learning more each episode. Thank you, Antrese, for such a wonderful asset that also brings gift after gift of "Yes! I needed to hear that!"
Deeper than it looks!
It took me a while to check this podcast out, because of the title of the show I was expecting mostly marketing tips & that sort of thing. I was afraid it might be a bit glib & superficial...or worse, lessons in how to sell out. I was very happily surprised that Antrese's conversation with artists go far deeper, with discussions not only about business matters & technique, but artistic philosophies & intensely personal experiences relating to the making of art. I do appreciate the helpful marketing stuff (we all need, like it or not), but even more the insights into individual artists' varied approaches to their work & careers. I've also discovered artists here that I might never have encountered otherwise. Thank you, Antrese!
I wait, impatiently, every Thursday for these wonderful podcasts. They're always inspiring!
