Thank you!

I don't know how I managed before discovering this podcast. Listening to Antrese interview artists about philosophy, struggle, joy, technique, marketing, what have you, has been an absorbing and companionable joy as I paint alone in my studio. I'm pretty sure I've made some better paintings because of this podcast! Thank you Antrese.

Just great

Antrese helps with my windshield time fly by with inspirational guests. Finally an art podcast that isn't a lecture series. Keep up the good work!

Awesome Artist Stimuli

I stumbled across this podcast and what a treasure it's been ! Several of the interviewed artists have been ones I admire (Kathleen Dunphy and Kevin MacPherson - Plein Air artists). The host asks great questions and usually gets great advice for those listening. Even though it is simply audio, a wide array of topics have been covered (drawing, painting, business). It's been fun to listen in on what has to be said about the artists origins, dreams, practices, color choices, and interests. As a young aspiring artist, this podcast is very encouraging and I look forward to sharing with my artist circle of friends. Keep up the great work and keep bringing on those Plein Air artists!!

Awesome Podcast

I stumbled on these, not sure how, but I'm so glad I did. So much information and ideas. By listening to all these other artists I've found that the struggles I'm going through are just part of the process. What a huge help and relief. Techniques, marketing, finding your own voice, the list goes on, listen in, you won't be sorry!

“I love listening to this show. It’s one of the few that, if my podcast player keeps giving me more episodes of it in a row, I don’t mind a bit. It is exactly what I need to learn to believe in my own creativity.

A gift!

This podcast is a gift for artists. As a painter, I spend a lot of time alone in my studio. Listening to Antrese is like talking shop with the professionals any time I need inspiration. It's great to hear other artists going through similar challenges, sharing ideas, and discussing the subjects that would otherwise just be random thoughts in my head. Antrese unpacks these ideas and gives listeners a lot to chew on. I had the honor of meeting Antrese at her plein air workshop in March of 2015. She's a delight. A great listener and artist, passionate about painting, and cares about the art community. Her podcast brings this community closer. Thank you for this great service!

My encouraging painting buddy!

I have been listening to the Savvy Painter Podcast for nearly a year now and it has become a staple each week. I listen while painting in my studio and it engages my left brain and leaves me feeling encouraged and inspired to keep on painting. Also, I have been introduced to so many different artists that I hadn't known. I can't imagine not having the Savvy Painter as a resource and painting buddy!

Love love love!

Antrese is the perfect mentor to have with you in the studio. Here I am set up with 6 WIPs on easels, house-sitting while my daughter is on holiday, with 3 days of just myself & painting to focus on - bliss. Love my 3 grandsons but totally loving this as a quiet space for a change. What shall I do first? Will I finish any of them? Can I mix that colour again? How will I get them back home if they are all wet with fresh oil paint? I need some help to focus and who better than the Savvy Painter podcast. How to Create Clarity ... oh boy how spot on was this! Just like all of her podcasts Antrese hits the nail right on the head - trust yourself and take your next best step! I've listened to it over and over to get those messages deep in my psyche and it's working! Thank you so much Antrese for your coaching skills that dispel the myths that deny us the pleasure of enjoying what we do. We can get on with believing in ourselves rather than waiting for outside confirmation. love Love LOVE this podcast!

Deeper than it looks!

It took me a while to check this podcast out, because of the title of the show I was expecting mostly marketing tips & that sort of thing. I was afraid it might be a bit glib & superficial...or worse, lessons in how to sell out. I was very happily surprised that Antrese's conversation with artists go far deeper, with discussions not only about business matters & technique, but artistic philosophies & intensely personal experiences relating to the making of art. I do appreciate the helpful marketing stuff (we all need, like it or not), but even more the insights into individual artists' varied approaches to their work & careers. I've also discovered artists here that I might never have encountered otherwise. Thank you, Antrese!

Antrese is here to make the sticky parts not just easier, but still creative (!) - Love Antrese's perspective!

The business of art can detract from the process, which needs to be creative. Antrese is here to make the sticky parts not just easier, but still creative (!) - which is instrumental in helping you as an artist succeed in business. Go Antrese!

Inspiring!

So thankful to have seen artist Carol Marine mention this series on her blog, and I'm thrilled I took time to check it out. Topics and the interviewees are diverse but very relevant to working artists. Creating art can be a solitary discipline, and listening to the podcasts is a wonderful way to get out of your little bubble and see how the real world works and how other artists think and create. The other thing I really like is that the podcasts are not too long 🙂 Antrese is great at asking the right questions and pulling out the most important info from her guests.

Enjoyable and informative!

I'm so glad I found your podcast. Although I don't know how you have managed to produce so many quality interviews. I'm glad there is a backlog I haven't heard yet so I don't have to wait. I'm sure I'll catch up soon thought, so keep on doing them! I like your style of interviewing, it's obvious you research your guests and I often find that you ask the very question that comes to my mind when I'm listening. Thank you for your hard work and for creating this valuable resource.

The Podcast that put the focus back on my lack of...look squirrel!

I am so thankful to have discovered the Savvy Painter podcast with Antrese Wood. I was deep into working on a commission and found that I felt my mind was aching for stimulation. This particulate project (wood burning) I was working on bordered more craft than art, but I had to focus and it was painful. THE SAVVY PAINTER PODCAST SAVED MY LIFE! After being privileged to work while listening to TEN or more episodes in a row over two days, I would consider myself an expert on everything savvy. I love the way the show is formatted and Antrese is a gifted listener. She has a tremendous skill for asking questions, keeping conversation light and managing content of a wide variety from several dynamic artists. I feel like I was getting so much done as I burned wood sitting on my yoga ball. I LIVED! I feel great. Thanks, Antrese! I feel like my world has opened up. I'm encouraged and inspired.
