Insightful interviews that appeal to artists at any stage of their career
All of my friends are probably sick of hearing about Savvy Painter from me, but I can't stop recommending this show. Every episode is a goldmine, whether the interview is with another artist, a teacher, financial planner, blogger, collector, gallery owner...You name it and Antrese Wood has had a conversation with them. The show is informative AND entertaining. And she's not just rehashing what has already been covered in other interviews or writings. Antrese does her homework and doesn't let her interviewees off the hook and glib answers. The show makes me go back and re-listen to episodes (and take notes) to make sure I didn't miss anything. What a valuable resource!
I'm addicted to these podcasts and now that I've went through the whole archive, I eagerly watch for each new one. Antrese does a fabulous job of being fully present for each interview and letting the artist's response guide her questioning. She asks thoughtful, interesting questions that illuminate the artist's thinking and process. I enjoy the range of subjects she covers from art practice to business. I've listened to other podcasts on the arts, but this is by far my favorite! Thank you, Antrese!
Savvy Painter is the best podcast for artists
Hands-down, this is the best podcast for artists. The guests are successful artists with a lot to say. Better yet, it's obvious that Antrese has studied their work and career before she starts the interview. This enables her to interact with them in a thoughtful, articulate, and meaningful way. This podcast will make you think about how and why you make art, and about how you want to promote your art career.
Artists who share their pragmatic as well as visionary sides
Great questions. Artists who share their pragmatic as well as visionary sides. It's such a generous contribution to the sometimes-solitary world of an artist, and I'm soaking up all I can, learning more each episode. Thank you, Antrese, for such a wonderful asset that also brings gift after gift of "Yes! I needed to hear that!"

Easy Listening on a Complicated Subject
Just discovered this via an artist I follow on Instagram who was interviewed: William Wray. Have now listened to at least six or seven episodes and I love the consistently audio quality (a problem with other show on this topic) and the structure of the show which makes it very easy to listen to and the insightful questions that reveal each artist in unique ways.

Great Podcast for Artists!!
I discovered this podcast maybe two weeks ago, and I've already binge-listened to every episode! Antrese is an excellent interviewer. She's very smart, insightful, kind and she's somehow able to relate on a meaningful level with every artist she interviews, and these are some drastically different personalities and points of view. I can't wait to find out who Antrese will interview next! She's gotten some amazing, impressive artists so far.

Educational & insightful
I've listened to about 20 episodes so far, and wanted to thank you for what you are doing Antrese. Your great questions and conversational style bring out amazingly reflective and insightful responses from your guests. I'm really looking forward to listening to the rest of your podcasts.
I love this podcast. It's full of information and inspiring. I feel like I'm sitting around drinking coffee with friends while I learn about the art world. It's my favorite thing to listen to it in the studio.
Terrific and informative on the subject matter
This podcast does a terrific job interviewing some of the most interesting contemporary painters around. Any painter can find interesting discussions here from working artist about their various methods and their thinking about the art business and the making of art. Good background information and technical information on working methods is always included and artists often mention surprising insights on their personal development. Antrese is a fun, engaging and interested host and she lets the artists tell their own stories with little prompting. Some aspects of painting discussed might feel a bit obscure to a casual listener, but in-depth interview material is actually the best part of the show, since it is rarely presented in print or other formats. Absolutely recommended for any artist or painter at any level from rank beginner to working professional.
What an inspiration!!!
As someone who doesn’t consider myself artistic, this show really inspires me to tap into my inner artist and express myself thru my business in more ways! Loved hearing Donna Moritz…one of my favorite people to learn visual marketing from! Great show Antrese!
Genuine...extraordinary person and an amazing interviewer
Antrese is an extraordinary person and an amazing interviewer. She is actually present throughout the entire interview, not just reading questions and waiting for an opening in the conversation so that she can say something. She is very engaged and engaging and her own paintings are beautiful. She asks the questions that I, as an artist would ask the interviewee myself but in a truly curious and very conversational way. She shares some of herself but not too much, it is like listening to a conversation between two extremely interesting and close friends. I recommend this podcast often to friends and fellow artists. Go Antrese!
Great show. Inspirational. Encouraging. Informative. Wonderful to listen to while painting!! Thanks a zillion!
I'm addicted !
