Gallery owner Nathan Cartwright talks candidly about what artists should do before approaching a gallery. The Hive Gallery and Studios, in downtown Los Angeles will celebrate its 10th year as a central figure in the downtown art scene.

Openings at the Hive are an event. It’s definitely not your typical gallery scene. There is music, people in costumes roaming around, artists painting in their studios, and all sorts of stuff going on.

The Hive has been showcasing artists and collaborating with other galleries locally and as far away as Tokyo since 2005.
